Hannah Chalmers
with
STRIPPED
Amsterdam: November 21, 22, 23 & 24 Voorburg: November 25
Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes in the dark, deceiving world of the Strip Club? STRIPPED reveals all in this wickedly funny, achingly honest and beautifully shrewd one woman show. Based on shockingly real characters and exploits from Hannah's pole dancing days. (don't tell her Mum!)
This show will make you laugh, cry, cringe and be touched (but that may cost extra!), as boundaries are pushed, rules broken, relationships abused and dignity tested, as the men pursue sex and the women compete for money in this gender struggle for power.
Centred around the impressionable newcomer, Baby; the innocent novice finds herself bombarded with ruthless club rules and surrounded by tough veteran strippers. She is manipulated and used, until she is finally forced to discover the depths of her sexual power and adapt from the exploited to the exploiter.'

REVIEWS
"Chalmers is cute, funny, smart and fun to watch, and her expose of the lap-dancing racket makes more sense and rings truer than 1000 speaches from 1000 politicians ... an entertaining and thought-provoking piece of theatre." **** The Scotsman, 'best of the fest' read more >>
"Armed with an impressive array of note perfect accents, Chalmers certainly milks us dry of laughter and tears ... STRIPPED is an acting tour - de - force for Chalmers, who ricochets at dizzying speed between different vocal intonations and mannerisms." **** The Metro
A kaleidoscope of absorbing characters are created by one actor in this play...It is easy to believe in all of these, and Hannah Chalmers moves seamlessly back and forth between them. This is an exquisite display of virtuoso acting...an excellent show which I would highly recommend." **** Broadway Baby read more >>
"By rising talent Hannah Chalmers, this show has fast become a top-pick of the Fringe and it's easy to see why. Chalmers portrays a variety of characters with such precision and charm creating a show that is engaging and riveting throughout....The script is very well written, undulating between sharp and comic to moving and poignant...an excellent example of observational theatre. Chalmers is a brilliant comic actress and brings a sense of realism to all of the many characters she portrays...It's smart, funny and interesting with a big old message under the surface.
